Original Painting - Acrylic and ink on watercolor paper

11x16 inches and includes gold, black or white frame. Black and white options are simple 1 inch wood frames. Other frames shown are for illustration purposes.

This original multimedia artwork plays with the concept of different perceptions of reality with regards to photography and painting. Featuring a view of Mt. Hood from the Willamette Valley, it started with a photograph taken on a day of wandering around the valley. While combining ink, watercolor, and acrylic on paper the work begins with photographs that are heavily edited, then printed and painted over. I also enjoy the abstract painting aspect when you get close and look at the art.

As a viewer, it can be difficult to discern where the photography ends and the painting begins. I don’t like to be confined by any one style or aesthetic, so this series is more about bending ideas, exploring concepts, and playing with light through the medium of paint.
