I primarily teach students of all ages from my light-filled home studio located in the Dunthorpe neighborhood of South Portland and just three minutes from downtown Lake Oswego.  Classes can be individual or group classes.

Art Classes

Currently, I focus on art that appreciates and utilizes the work and methods of Henri Matisse, the French visual artist that covered an important range of time from Fauvism to Impressionism to Modern art.  Specializing in the creative process and the practice of experimentation to build confidence and critical thinking skills, I work with students on using many mediums from simple photography, drawing and coloring with pencils and markers and then painting with watercolors and acrylics.  I also enjoy teaching color theory and the fine motor skills involved in Matisse's paper cut out masterpieces. The art classes are 1 hour to 1.5 hours long and range from $45-$60.

For Cursive Handwriting, I begin with proper posture and simple exercises to learn the art of handwriting.  Many schools no longer teach cursive so I am looking to fill the gap on this appreciated and important skill.  My hope is that students can write, address and sign their signature on a letter by the end of this class.  This class is ideal for ages 7 and above and may help improve reading and motor skills with the connection of letters. Classes are $35 for one hour.
