After the Fire
This original painting features the old Domaine DeBroglie tasting room after the space experienced a fire in the Dundee Hills. Afterwards, they moved to a new tasting room in Newberg and rebranded as Domaine Lumineux.
 
Acrylic and ink on watercolor paper
11x14 inches and includes gold, black or white frame. Black and white options are simple 1 inch wood frames. Other frames shown are for illustration purposes.
 
This original multimedia artwork plays with the concept of different perceptions of reality with regards to photography and painting. While combining ink, watercolor, and acrylic on paper the work begins with photographs that are heavily edited, then printed and painted over. I also enjoy the abstract painting aspect when you get close and look at the art.
 
As a viewer, it can be difficult to discern where the photography ends and the painting begins. I don’t like to be confined by any one style or aesthetic, so this series is more about bending ideas, exploring concepts, and playing with light through the medium of paint.
