Symmetry

In 2020, I began this series exploring the design concept of symmetry and applying it to photographs. The process also incorporated some painting over the images on canvas. In continuing my work in abstract art and photography, I am interested in lines and the quiet in the midst of chaos. My eyes like to make sense of things being equal and symmetry creates a sense of calm and wonder at the same time. 2020 was also a time of chaos and this process gave me a sense of peace when so many things in the world did not.

Finding beauty and calm for a moment aids the present human condition and the incapacity for sensory overload.
